Work Process

Most commonly, Clients define how their tests should be carried out using codes and standards and specifications. The clients, fill the requisition form for this purpose.

Here, the client’s defined specification and codes and standards to be used are communicated to the personnel for the job and test specimens delivered for preparation before tests are carried out.

This is the part where the test specimens are subjected to various processes like tensile strength, bend, charpy tests to determine the points of specimens failure in order to understand the specimens performance or material behavior under different loads.

This is where the results from the tests are collated and organized to be given to the clients for perusal and record keeping.

TESTS CARRIED OUT

Each trading system creates an experienced trader and passes rigorous selection in the initial stage.
Phased Array (PAUT)Phased Array is an advanced Ultrasonic inspection technique which uses an array of crystal elements which can be pulsed sequentially allowing sound beam steering and focusing at user defined focal laws, so a single transducer in a one line scan inspects the weld with angles from 35 to 75 degrees eliminating the need for performing multiple conventional A-scan which have limitations as only single element with 45 or 60 or 70 deg fixed angles are available for inspection. The digitized A-Scan data permits viewing the data in multiple layouts like B-Scan, C-Scan, Sectorial Scan and offline review of inspection data is possible with OmniPC or Tomoview software.
Time Of Flight Diffraction (TOFD)TOFD is an advanced non-amplitude based UT technique using the weak diffracted signals from tips of defects preferentially cracks. It has higher precision in analyzing through wall height sizing of defects. The limitation includes blind zone effect on top and bottom of weld and unable to precisely position of defect within weld but these limitations can be overcome using a combination of phased array inspection with improved detectability and sizing.
Long Range Ultrasonic Testing (LRUT)LRUT is an advanced nondestructive examination technique that was developed for testing large volumes of material from a single test point. What differentiates this from more traditional methods of ultrasonic testing is that, with LRUT, a liquid couplant between transducers and the surface is not required. For this reason LRUT is one of the fastest inspection tools for carrying out pipeline surveys for corrosion and other damage mechanisms.
Close Proximity Radiography:Conventional Radiography is a nondestructive examination method that uses X-ray and Gamma ray for detecting internal imperfections. MUDIAME introduces Close Proximity Radiography to Nigeria and West Africa. Radiography provides a quality, cost effective, permanent record with high volume capabilities due to simple operation and portability. However, its use is restricted by the inherent risks associated with the use of radiation and the need to establish and manage a controlled area during the process.
